Your information
Privacy policy
This policy explains how information is handled when you use this website or ask for a clearance estimate.
Who is responsible for your information
The data controller is Berkshire Property Renovations Limited, company number 14388243, trading as The House Clearance Family. Its registered office is 16 Bridge Street, Hungerford, Berkshire, United Kingdom, RG17 0EG. Privacy enquiries can be sent to enquiries@theclearancefamily.co.uk.
Information we collect
We collect the contact, property and clearance information you choose to provide, including photographs. We may also record the page you enquired from, referral information and campaign tags so we can understand how enquiries reach us. We do not ask you to upload identity documents, financial records or photographs containing information unrelated to the clearance.
Why we use it
We use enquiry information to assess the requested service, ask relevant follow-up questions, provide an estimate or quotation, arrange work and keep appropriate business records. The usual lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.
Photographs and sensitive contents
Property photographs may incidentally show names, family photographs, documents or other personal material. Before uploading, avoid or obscure anything that is not needed for the estimate. Access to enquiry photographs should be limited to people and systems involved in assessing or delivering the service.
Storage, sharing and retention
Enquiry data is stored using the website's hosting, storage and email-delivery providers. Automated systems may help organise the information you provide, identify missing details, analyse relevant property photographs, estimate the resources required and prepare follow-up questions or a non-binding estimated range. The property postcode may be used with a location lookup to estimate return mileage. A person checks the final price and exact date before a booking is confirmed. Information may be shared with service providers only where needed to operate the website, communicate with you or deliver an agreed service, or where the law requires it.
Information is kept only for as long as needed for the enquiry, service, legal obligations and dispute handling, then deleted or anonymised where appropriate. Email delivery events such as successful delivery, delays and bounces may be recorded so communication problems can be identified.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability, and you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. To make a privacy request, email enquiries@theclearancefamily.co.uk with ‘privacy request’ in the subject line.
